Tina IngrahamTina Ingraham was born in Kenton, Ohio and received her BSD from the University of Cincinnati and MFA from Brooklyn College of CUNY where she received The Charles G. Shaw Memorial Award for Scholarship and Art and a Graduate Teaching Fellowship. Ms. Ingraham has pursued painting continuously for over 25 years, incorporating periods of full-time studio work and collegiate teaching. Her work hangs in numerous private and corporate collections including MBNA Corporation. Recent commissions were awarded by Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine and former CEO of Louis Vuiton Moett Hennessy. She most recently exhibited a one-person show at Hubert Gallery in New York City and has participated in numerous group exhibitions in the north east including The National Academy of Design, NYU Small Works Show at Washington Square Gallery East, and The Gallery at Kohn, Pederson, Fox, all in New York; and Bates College Museum of Art in Maine. Angelo Ippolito Angelo Ippolito (1922-2001) was born in St. Arsenio, Italy. He has had solo exhibitions at Grace Borgenicht Gallery, Binghamton University Art Museum, University of California at Berkeley, Cleveland Art Institute, Bertha Schaefer Gallery, Tanager Gallery, and Galleria della Rotonda in Bergamo, Italy. Susana Viola Jacobson received her BFA at the University of Utah and her MFA at Stanford University. She teaches graduate painting and graduate seminars in drawing and color/collage, undergraduate Visual Studies and has co-taught interdisciplinary courses on public art and Las Vegas through Architecture and Historic Preservation at UPENN. Jody Joseph received her B.A. at the University of Michigan and her J.D. degree from the University of San Francisco. Born in Belgrade, Ana Kapor came to Rome at 18 to study at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma. Her first solo exhibitions were in Gallery The Triptych, Galleria Antonia Jannone, Milan. From that came a fruitful partnership with three solo exhibitions in Milan, and her presence in important art fairs: Fiera di Bologna; MiArt, Milano; Artissima, Turin; Imagine Art at the Fair, Reggio Emilia; Naples Art Contemporary; St- Art, Strasburg, Art Miami, and Art Fair Karlsruhe. In 1998 Ana Kapor won the Suzzara Prize, later won the Biennial Prize for Painting of the Town of Bordighera, Premio Ferruccio Ferrazzi, and Premio Michetti. In 2005, Ana Kapor, with her series Nocturnes, was the winner of the National Award for Painting of Sabaudia Ferruccio Ferrazzi. In 2007 she was invited to participate in the New Painters of Reality exhibition at PAC in Milan. Over the years, Ana Kapor has created a stable relationship with the most important figurative galleries in Italy, with exhibitions in the historic Galleria dell’incisone of Brescia and Galleria Don Quixote, Galleria Forni, Bologna with her husband, the painter Vladimir Pajevic, and Gallery Falter, in Florence. With her solo show Isola Sacra, in Gallery Nathalia Laue in Frankfurt in 2008, Ana Kapor was introduced to the German public. In 2008, Ana Kapor and Vladimir Pajevic were invited by the Panorama Museum in Bad Frankenhausen (Germany), to set up their own personal show. Mark Karnes Mark Karnes received his B.F.A. in painting from the Philadelphia College of Art (now The University of the Arts) and his M.F.A. from Yale University. Louise LeBourgeoisBorn in New Orleans, Louise LeBourgeois grew up in Belle Chasse, Louisiana; Oxford, England; and Clemson, South Carolina before moving to Chicago. Influenced by the diverse places she experienced as a child, she remains intrigued by the phenomenon of existing in one place while clinging to the memory of another. She uses landscape imagery as a way to explore history, both personal and collective. Louise earned her M.F.A. from Northwestern University in 1994. Her paintings have been exhibited throughout the United States and in Italy. Awards include grants from the Illinois Arts Council and Artadia: The Fund for Art and Dialogue, and inclusion in Who’s Who of American Women. After the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Louise co-founded the ‘NOLA in Chicago Network’, a group advocating for the needs of New Orleans and New Orleanians. John Lees received his BFA and his MFA at the Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles. Leonid Lerman was born in Odessa, Ukraine, and emigrated to the US in 1980. He obtained his MFA from V.I. Moukhina College of Art and Design in St. Petersburg, Russia. He has received monumental commissions in Russia and the Ukraine, and various commissions from the Reproduction Department of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NY. Mr. Lerman worked at the Johnson Atelier, and has taught at the NY Sculpture Center, the University of the Arts, the NY Academy of Art, New York University, Brooklyn College, Fashion Institute of Technology, the Art Students League, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. His work has been exhibited at the Sculpture Center, PS 1, the Drawing Center, and the Russian Museum in St. Petersburg. Stanley LewisStanley Lewis, born in Somerville, New Jersey, is a member of the Bowery Gallery in New York City and the Oxbow Gallery in Northampton, Massachusetts. His work has been shown at Salander O'Reilly Galleries in New York City. A retired professor from American University, he also taught at the Kansas City Art Institute from 1969 to 1986, and currently teaches part-time at the New York Studio School.
After receiving a BA with high distinction from Wesleyan University, Lewis went on to receive a BFA and MFA from Yale and as a Danforth Fellow. Solo exhibitions have included Dartmouth College, the Bowery Gallery, and the Dorry Gates Gallery, MO. A major retrospective of his work was shown at the American University Museum, Washington D.C. in 2007. Group shows include the Delaware College of Art and Design, the Commission for Arts and Humanities in Washington D.C., and Swarthmore College. His work is in the collections of the Albrecht Gallery, MO and the University of Indiana among others. Richard LytleRichard Lytle studied at the Cooper Union School of Art and at the Yale University School of Art, where he received a B.F.A. in 1957 and an M.F.A. in 1960. He was an assistant in instruction to Josef Albers in 1956 for color and in 1957 for basic drawing. He was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to Florence, Italy, in 1958 and was included in the Museum of Modern Art exhibition Sixteen Americans in 1959. In 1985 Mr. Lytle received the Augustus Saint-Gaudens Award from the Cooper Union School of Art. His work has been exhibited nationally and in Europe, and his paintings are in many public and corporate collections including those of the Museum of Modern Art, the National Museum of Art, and the Minneapolis Institute of Art. Mr. Lytle began teaching at Yale in 1960, was dean of the Silvermine College of Art from 1963 to 1965, and returned to the Yale faculty in 1966. Mr. Lytle was acting dean of the School of Art in 1980–81 and in the spring terms of 1990 and 1994. James McGarrellJames McGarrell studied painting at Indiana University and at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. Prof. McGarrell has works in the permanent collections of many institutions including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, the Whitney Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, Centre National d'art et de Culture Georges-Pompidou, Paris, France, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Utah Museum of Fine Arts, the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, and the St. Louis Art Museum. His work has been exhibited in five Whitney Museum Annuals and Biennials, two Carnegie International Exhibitions, Documenta in Kassel, Germany, and the Venice Biennale. Ruth Miller Ruth Miller graduated from the University of Missouri with a major in painting. She has taught at Queens College, the University of Hartford, Yale University School of Art at Norfolk, and Parsons School of Design MFA painting program. Since 1973 she has taught painting and drawing at the New York Studio School. Joseph NicolettiJoseph Nicoletti received his BA from Queens College, City University of NY, and his MFA from Yale University. He has had solo exhibitions at Chase Gallery in Boston, Barridoff Galleries, Treat Gallery, the Walker Art Museum, and at the Office of the Governor, State House, in Maine. Mr. Nicoletti has won awards from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and Research Grants from Bates College. He was a teaching assistant to William Bailey at Yale. Mr. Nicoletti has also taught at Bowdoin College, and Bates College in Maine.

Wilbur Niewald is professor emeritus of painting at the Kansas City Art Institute, where he studied, taught, and for twenty-eight years, served as chair of the painting and printmaking department. The school is known as one of the best traditionally based undergraduate art school programs in the US. He has influenced generations of students during his long tenure in the college’s heralded painting department. Prof. Niewald also taught in summer programs at the NY Studio School, Yale University, Boston University, Vermont Studio Center, and Chautauqua Institute. He is the recipient of a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship, the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Charlotte Street Fund, based in Kansas City, Artist in Residence, Grand Canyon National Park, and the Distinguished Teaching of Art Award from the College Art Association. He is a member of the National Academy of Design. Joyce Pensato was born in Brooklyn, New York, and studied painting and drawing at the New York Studio School. Ms. Pensato has had solo exhibitions in Dijon, Lyon, Marseilles, Houston, in NY, and in Paris at Galerie Anne de Villepoix, where she is currently represented. She has exhibited in Paris, Lyon, London, Graz, Hamburg, New York, and throughout the US. She was the recipient of a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Award, a Guggenheim Fellowship, a NY Foundation for the Arts Grant, and a grant from the Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation. Joyce Pensato divides her time between Brooklyn and Paris.
Irving Petlin Irving Petlin studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and at Yale University. He has won a Cassandra Foundation grant and a Guggenheim Fellowship. He has had solo exhibitions at Galerie du Dragon in Paris, Rolf Nelson Gallery, Odyssia Gallery, the Neuberger Museum, Marlborough Gallery, Kent Fine Art, Gallery Rebecca Cooper, and at galleries in London, Brussels, Rome, Turin, Milan, and at the Venice Biennale. Since the sixties, Mr. Petlin has been a leader in artists' political activism, from his role as a founder of Artists and Writers Against the War in Vietnam, to his participation in the Artists' Call Against the U.S. Intervention in Central America. He has taught at Dartmouth College, UCLA, Haifa University, and the Art Institute of Chicago.
Marjorie PortnowEducated at Western Reserve University, Pratt Institute, and Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, Marjorie Portnow received her masters of fine art at Brooklyn College. Elected to membership in the National Academy of Design in New York City, she also teaches there and at the Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts. She has been visiting professor at many colleges and universities in America. For may years she showed with the Fishbach Gallery and recently had a one person show at Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia. Her work appears in almost all the major museum exhibitions of American landscape painting including: The Landscape in Twentieth-Century American Art (Selections From The Metropolitan Museum of Art); Landscape Painting (1960-1990) (The Italian Tradition in American Art), and books in which her work appears include John Arthur's The American Landscape Tradition Since 1950 and Alan Gussow's The Artist as Native (Reinventing Regionalism). She has received fellowships to Yaddo and the Mac Dowell Colony and innumerable awards including The Hassan Purchase Prize from the American Institute Academy of Arts and Letters: National Endowment of the Arts, Ingram Merrill Grant, Tiffany Grant. Mileta ProdanovicMileta Prodanovic, painter, writer, and a major cultural figure in Serbia, was born in Belgrade. He studied architecture and painting at the University of Arts Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade, where he received his undergraduate and Masters degrees, and was awarded post-graduate study at the Royal College of Art, London. Prof. Prodanovic was the representative artist for his country at the Venice Biennale in 1986, and has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Rome, Venice, Vienna, Prague, Paris, Graz, Budapest, Dusseldorf, Regensburg, Toulouse, major museums and galleries in Belgrade, and throughout Europe. Mileta Prodanovic has published works of fiction, and essays in the field of visual arts and journalism. During the nineties he published essays on the topic of "war-culture-politics" in a number of Yugoslav daily and periodical newspapers and magazines. He was a member of the editorial board of the periodicals Belgrade Circle and New Moment. Prodanovic is a founding member of "Writers Forum". He has won several awards in the field of literature and art, including the Serbian Academy of Arts & Sciences "Ivan Tabakovic" award, "Lazar Trifunivic" for art criticism, "Borislav Pekic" for literature, "Sava Sumavonic" for visual arts, "Vital" for literature, the City of Belgrade award for literature, and a Residency at the Iowa International Writing Program. His books of prose include: "Dinner at St. Apollonia" (1984), "New Clinical" (1989), "Travel Between Images and Labels" (1993), "The Dog With The Broken Spine" (1993), "Celestial Opera" (1995), "Dance, monster, on my soft music" (1995) and "This Could Be Your Lucky Day" (2000), which he also adapted and directed for the theater, "Red Scarves all Silk" (1999), "Garden in Venice" (2002), "Elisha in the Land of Saintly Carp" (2003), "Agnes" which won the best book award of 2007, "Ermine" (2009), "Ultramarine" (2010), a book of essays "The Older and More Beautiful Belgrade" (2001), and a collection of poetry "Miasma" (1994). He has been published in several anthologies of recent Serbian prose, among others in the selection of The Prince of Fire - An Anthology of Contemporary Serbian Short Stories, University of Pittsburgh Press, 1998. It has been translated into English, German, Spanish, Polish, Bulgarian and Hungarian. He is a Ph.D candidate and Associate Professor and Vice Dean at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade.
Olivera Pudar Olivera Pudar was born in Novi Sad, Serbia. She studied at the Isidor Bajić School of Music, Novi Sad, the Academy of Fine Arts of Novi Sad, and the University of Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts, Belgrade, where she received her BFA and MFA. She also attended International School of Art, Montecastello, Italy, and Yale School of Art, New Haven, for her second MFA. Her awards include the Rista & Beta Vukanovic prize for painting, Neimar Award for mosaic, 3rd prize at the National Piano Competition, Serbia, the Elizabeth Greenshields Grant (2005, 2008), and the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant. Her painting was the subject of an article by Dr. John T. Spike in Art & Antiques, “Closer Look: Memory Palace: Olivera Pudar”.

Jeffrey ReedJeffrey Reed earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Maryland Institute College of Art, in Baltimore, and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia. Since 1986 he has taught at the Community College of Philadelphia, where he also served as chair of the art department. Celia ReismanCelia Reisman is known for her paintings of the Philadelphia suburbs and other locations, where she combines architectural elements within a rich, complex world of invented color and shapes. Ms. Reisman received a BFA at Carnegie Mellon University and went on to receive an MFA in Printmaking from Yale University. She is represented by the Paul Thiebaud Gallery in New York and San Francisco where she had two recent solo exhibitions. In Philadelphia she has exhibited at the Gross McCleaf Gallery, which has represented her for over twenty years. She has had been in group exhibitions in Philadelphia, New York, London and other locations in the US. Her work was selected for the American Academy of Arts and Letters Invitational Exhibition where she received a Hassam, Speicher, Betts, and Symons Purchase Award. In 2000 she had a Fifteen Year Survey Exhibition at the James A. Michener Art Museum in Doyelstown, PA. Her paintings toured in two traveling exhibitions curated by Alan Gussow entitled, “ Artist as Native” and “Rediscovering the Landscape”. Her other awards include residencies at the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation in Taos, New Mexico, the Rochefort-en-Terre Residency in France, the Ragdale Foundation and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. Ramiro SanchezRamiro Sanchez started painting at age 14 in his home country of Venezuela. After moving to Florence, Ramiro attended the Accademia di Belle Arti, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1997. At the same time, he was enrolled at The Florence Academy of Art where he received a diploma in Painting. He has been teaching at The Florence Academy of Art since 1997. In 2003, his paintings and drawings were subject of a monograph “Ramiro” by international art critic John T. Spike. In 2005, he received the special Director’s Award at the Florence International Biennale of Contemporary Art. Ramiro paints only from life, searching for accuracy beyond physical appearance to reach the psychological state of his subject. he believes the painter must draw his information from "all five senses" to tell the complete human story. Ramiro's portraits and still lifes are in private collections in the United States and Europe.

Ruggero Savinio Ruggero Savinio was born in Turin into a family of artists: his uncle was Giorgio de Chirico, and his father the painter and writer Alberto Savinio. Ruggero Savinio studied Literature at the University of Rome. He had his first one-man show in 1962 in Milan. He has exhibited his work in more than one hundred private galleries in Rome, Frankfurt, Paris, Chicago and New York, as well as in public spaces, including Salon Grands et Jeune d'aujoud'hui in Paris, and Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome. He was awarded the Guggenheim Prize, was named as a member of the Accademia di San Luca in Rome, and has had two one-person exhibits at the Venice Biennale as a representative Italian artist.
Ruggero Savinio has also published four books: L 'eta dell'oro (The golden age), Percorsi della figura (Figure's ways ), Ombra portata (The cast shadow), and Paesaggio con figura (Landscape with figure). His essays, stories and verses have been published in several literary revues. He lives and works in Rome with his wife, the poetess Annelisa Alleva, and their two children.
Marc Servin was born in New York City, and studied painting and drawing at Binghamton University and at the New York Studio School, where he was awarded a full scholarship. After organizing an artist's theater in a Brooklyn loft, featured along with his paintings in the 1980 Merchant/Ivory film Jane Austen in Manhattan, and exhibiting his paintings in the Brooklyn Museum, he began a career in the book business, where he worked for 10 years, finally as a buyer for Macy's. In 1988 helped to create the International School of Art, left his executive position at Macy's to move to Italy and work on the school full-time. He has had solo exhibitions at Galleria ISA in Montecastello and has exhibited in group shows in New York, San Francisco and Italy. He lives in Chicago and Montecastello di Vibio with his wife, the painter Olivera Pudar, and their son Theodore.
Jonathan ShahnJonathan Shahn was born in Columbus, OH, and studied at Swarthmore College, the Boston Museum School, and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. He has exhibited extensively, most recently at George Billis Gallery, National Academy of Design, George Krevsky Gallery, O'Hara Gallery and Hackett-Freedman Gallery. Mr. Shahn has received numerous awards, including grants from the National Academy Annual Maynard Prize, the NJ State Council on the Arts, an Honorary Bogliasco Fellowship, and his commissions include the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, for the MLK Jr. Station, Jersey City, NJ, and the Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial, Roosevelt, NJ. His work is in the collections of the National Portrait Gallery, Washington, DC, Princeton University Art Museum, and Musei Vaticani, Vatican City, Italy. John T. SpikeJohn T. Spike is a noted historian of Italian art of the fifteenth through the eighteenth centuries. In 1979, he earned his PhD from Harvard University with a thesis devoted to Mattia Preti, the seventeenth-century painter known as Il Cavalier Calabrese. In recognition of his authoritative studies on Preti, Spike has recently been named an honorary citizen by Taverna, the artist's birthplace. Since 1989, Dr. Spike has been General Editor of The Illustrated Bartsch: Italian Masters of the Seventeenth Century, the multi-volume compendium of European prints executed before 1750. He is also the author of four of the more than ninety volumes published to date.
In the course of his career, Spike has organized many exhibitions of Italian art and has read lectures at important museums around the world, including the Pinacoteca Nazionale, Bologna; the Galleria degli Uffizi, Florence; the Kimbell Art Museum, Fort Worth; the Pierpont Morgan Library, New York; the Musée du Louvre, Paris; the Staatsgalerie, Stuttgart; and the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC. Dr. Spike serves as permanent consultant to the Museo Civico di Taverna, the Museo Civico di Urbania/Casteldurante, and the Cathedral Museum of Molina, Malta. He is the Director of the Biennale Internazionale dell'Arte Contemporanea in Florence. Larry Steele studied with George Spaventa, Philip Guston, David Hare and George McNeil at the New York Studio School. He is currently on the teaching staff of the Johnson Atelier School of Sculpture, where he has worked since 1982, specializing in Sand Foundry, Metal Chasing and Welding. He has also worked at Metal Works, in Maryland, a teaching foundry/metal shop. Mr. Steele has had exhibitions at Vicennes University, Rutgers University, the New Jersey State Museum, the International Conference on Contemporary Cast Iron Art in Birmingham Alabama, ONE MAIN Sculpture Space, 14 Sculptors Gallery, the New York Studio School Gallery, Samuel S. Wayne ThiebaudWayne Thiebaud studied at California State College. He is currently a professor in the Department of Art at University of California at Davis, where he has taught since 1960. He has also taught at Sacramento Junior College, where he chaired the art department in the 1950's, at California School of Fine Arts (now the San Francisco Art Institute), Cornell University, University of Victoria, B.C., Rice University, Colorado State University, University of Utah, Stanford University, Skowhegan School, Laguna Beach School of Art, and the New York Studio School.
Mr. Thiebaud has had solo exhibitions at the Crocker Art Museum, Allan Stone Gallery, M.H. de Young Memorial Museum, Galleria Schwarz in Milan, Stanford Art Museum, Pasadena Art Museum, The Art Museum and Galleries of California State University, Phoenix Art Museum, USA, Walker Art Center, Dickinson College, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Newport Harbor Art Museum, Milwaukee Art Museum, Columbus Museum of Art, and The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. He has been a jurist for the Prix de Rome Award Panel for painting, and the National Endowment for the Arts. Among many other awards, Mr. Thiebaud has won the College Art Association of America's Most Distinguished Studio Teacher of the Year (1980-81) citation, an Award of Distinction from National Art Schools Association, The Cyril Magnin Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement in the Arts from San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, and is an Honoree of the American Academy of Achievement. His grants and awards from the University of California, Davis include the Golden Apple Award for Distinguished Teaching, and the Prize for Teaching and Scholarly Achievement.
David VorosDavid Voros coordinates the painting program at the University of South Carolina. He received his MFA in 1994 from Indiana University in Bloomington, where he studied with Robert Barnes. He lived and studied in Italy after having received his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1985. He has exhibited his work at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, the International School of Art, the Hesburgh Library at the University of Notre Dame, the Weitman Gallery at Washington University as well as other notable institutions. Professor Voros has taught painting and drawing at Kendall College of Art and Design, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Indiana University South Bend and Bloomington, and Andrews University. He has received numerous grants and has spoken widely on his work. In 2007, he was named a Visiting Senior Member at the American Academy of Classical Studies in Athens.

Prof. Werfel has been a visiting artist or lecturer at Trinity College, Washington and Lee University, University of California, Santa Cruz, and Bowdoin College. She has been on various committees of the College Art Association, including the National Conference Committee and Nominating Committee for the Distinguished Teaching of Art Award. Her awards and research fellowships include the Rockefeller Foundation, Bellagio, Italy fellowship. Gina Werfel has been on the faculty of New York Studio School as Director of Paris Summer Sessions, Chautauqua Institute School of Art, Colby College, Randolph-Macon Woman's College, Pont-Aven School of Art, and University of Connecticut. She currently is Chair of Art and Art History at University of California - Davis.
